THE STUDIO

Established in 1999, Shamir Shah Design is an interior architecture and design studio based in the Flat Iron District in New York City. Our approach to design is informed by almost two decades of experience in both private residential and large scale development projects, and a thorough understanding of well finished interiors balanced with careful attention to our clients' rigorous requirements.

We are a widely published firm inspired by the craft of construction and by innovation in the design field. We welcome a collaborative process placing our clients' needs at the center of the design process. We have completed an array of projects throughout the U.S. and abroad. Our work is exemplified by attention to detail, a restrained yet elegant aesthetic, and the skill to layer materials artfully.

Our work comes from a point of view that reflects something of the culture, of its milieu, without ever descending into parody or pastiche. It is rooted in the traditions of functional modernism, the result being thoughtfully conceived and carefully crafted spaces that celebrate the individual experiences that form and enrich them.
